Geometric work: Irregular Pentagon around Octagon. The edges are painted on the canvas. So this is not a frame. This work with 16 irregular pentagons is formed around a regular octagon and suggests 4 half octagons. In nature, the pentagon, such as in crystals, is unknown. Mondrian was very concerned with the quadrangle and the vertical-horizontal concept, but never concerned himself with the pentagon.
