The contemporary house altars are inspired by geometric and optical frescoes and the wood carving- and inlayswork, which can be found in abbeys in Tuscany. Sometimes his spheres and colors are derived from old icons and translated to this time.

Flower Offering Altar. Life not only demands sacrifices, but also wants to make sacrifices. A meaning wrapped in ancient rituals or cultural acts to turn something for the better. This geometric altar is based on an Islamic motif that I wanted to connect with a Gothic setting.

Altar for the seafaring. Monica tries to create an atmosphere with the altars that leads to some peace, while a modern color and design has been applied. The whole is combined with furniture and wooden panels.

Wall altar. SACRIFICE FOR THE CHAIN PIG with Danish cross and Dutch clog. The animal that is ruthlessly sacrificed to man for the sake of commerce. The wall altar consists of a wooden box and is 5 cm deep with glass in front. It is intended to hang, but can also be placed standing. The object is wrapped with steel wire as a symbol of shackles. [Literally and figuratively] The pig itself has been given a steel collar. The Dutch export is symbolized in the clog and the cross symbolizes the sacrifice.
